The foundation of our horses is the Pitzer Ranch breeding program and the Two Eyed Jack bloodline.  Pitzer Ranch has been evaluating bloodlines, testing the genetics, and providing quality horses since the 60’s.  By the time Two Eyed Jack was retired, he had sired 1416 foals, 119 AQHA Champions and 30 Youth Champions including 31 Open and Youth World or Reserve World Championship winners. After the adoption of AI, he was bred to as many as 434 mares in one season, proving to be one of the all-time predominant breeding studs in Quarter Horse history.  Inducted into the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Hall of Fame in 1997 was Howard along with his pride and joy, Two Eyed Jack, the all time-leading sire of AQHA champions and prominent cornerstone of the Pitzer Ranch program.

Back in 2004 we bought our first Pitzer Ranch horse.
Buster, (
Mr Red Eyed),
a 2000
buckskin gelding by Two Eyed Red Buck and out of Miss Pearly Red.  Even as a 4-year-old, Buster was rock solid.  He was roped on, a reining prospect and an all around ranch horse ridden primarily by Jim Brinkman, one of the owners of Pitzer Ranch.  This was John’s 2nd horse and so he needed to be solid.  Everywhere we go, people admire Buster saying, “I want a Buster”.

Each year we buy quality Pitzer weanlings, raise them and then sell them.  Ginger is a prime example of this process.
